If you’re ever in the Crestwood or LaGrange area during the week around lunch time, then you’ve probably seen the Rollin’ Ruby’s food truck.  After driving by the truck several times, I decided to look them up on Facebook.

Their Facebook page is updated regularly and should be the place to look if you’re wanting to know what’s going on with Rollin’ Ruby’s.  On the page I learned that generally, the food truck is in Crestwood one day and then LaGrange twice during the week.  Menus are posted along with times the truck will be serving food and any changes due to uncooperative weather.

After finding the schedule and menu online, I met some friends at the truck in Crestwood on a nice Wednesday afternoon.  The food photos on Facebook will make you drool.  I tried the turkey burger with spicy relish with a side of fresh fruit.  My daughter was with me and she got a grilled cheese sandwich, chips and a capri sun.  I appreciated that Rollin’ Ruby’s had a nice kid-friendly option.  The menu has something for everyone.  Other friends tried the fried chicken and waffles and hot brown!  Other choices range from a Triple Decker Club, Chicken Salad (yum!), BBQ sandwiches, meatloaf burger, quiche, soups and an assortment of fresh homemade sides!  Don’t pass on dessert!  Imagine divine choices like, coconut cream bread pudding, fresh brownies, German chocolate cheesecake and banana cream pudding.  There are a few signature Ruby choices, but the menu is always changing!  Everything was very flavorful, fresh and perfectly portioned!  Owner, Eva Pace, is very friendly and quick to respond on social media.

You can find the food truck parked near the railroad track overpass in Crestwood.  It sits between the tracks and the new liquor store and right next to the ice machine.  There is a great gazebo across the street from it if you want to sit and enjoy your lunch.  There’s plenty of parking next to the ice machine.  In LaGrange, the truck usually parks in the Oldham Plaza near the Auto Zone.  Again, there is plenty of parking to be found near the food truck.  Always make sure you check Facebook for location and menu updates.

The next time you see Rollin’ Ruby’s parked in Oldham County, ya gotta stop and give it a try!  Cash and credit cards are accepted and you can even call in your order.  The only thing that will disappoint you is if Rollin’ Ruby’s runs out of your menu choice before you get to her!
