Every April, Downtown LaGrange blooms with joy for their annual Blue Hydrangea Progressive Tea.  This special event brings awareness to ovarian cancer while showcasing all that Downtown LaGrange merchants and businesses have to offer.

The day begins at North Walnut Avenue (near PB&J Stuff).  Check in is 12-1pm where guests receive their gift bag and special teacup.  Please bring a printed ticket if you can so check-in will run faster for everyone.

At 1pm, speakers will open the event with a special prayer and devotion.  After this, the visitors are free to explore Downtown LaGrange at their leisure.  Several merchants and restaurants will participate in the 2022 event, held on April 24th this year.  This is a great time to shop and get to know business owners and also support Ovarian Awareness of KY (OAK).

Here is a video from a past Blue Hydrangea Tea Event.

Look for the special teal ribbons and tea signs in the windows indicating the business is a participating partner for the event.  Inside the business, you will find a refreshing beverage and treat.  Some of the displays are too beautiful to eat.  The tea is warm, iced and some businesses will put their own twist on the tea.

There are a few ways for guests to receive support at the event.  DeHaven Baptist Church will open its door for a place for anyone to sit in quiet to reflect or pray.  Those wishing to ring the church bell to celebrate their last cancer treatment can do so as well.  A grief recovery counselor will also be at the event to offer support and love.

This beautiful event is a wonderful way to support local businesses, enjoy the company of friends and delicious treats and support women’s health.  This year, food trucks will also be at the event for a special treat, coffee or light lunch.

The 2022 event is April 24th, 1-4pm.  Tickets are $15 in advance and can be purchased online.  More information can be found on Downtown LaGrange’s website here or the Facebook event here.
