Oldham County Day!

Celebrate our beautiful county in July! Oldham County Day is one of our community’s best days!

Oldham County Day is always celebrated the 3rd Saturday in July in Downtown LaGrange.  The 2022 date is July 16th and the theme is “Be Kind.”

There is so much to see and do, so plan your day in Downtown LaGrange!

Beginning early morning is a pancake breakfast hosted by the LaGrange Rotary. Tickets are $8 (pre-purchased) and $10 at the door. Children’s tickets (10 and under) are only $5. It’s all you can eat – so the price is cheap! The breakfast is 7-10am at the LaGrange Community Center.

After you enjoy the pancakes, get set up to watch the parade in Downtown LaGrange.  The parade route is different for 2022! The parade will still begin on Hwy 146, but will end at the shopping center where Southeast Christian Church and Planet Fitness are on Hwy 53.  You can see the entire NEW route here. The parade usually starts around 10am and this year’s Grand Marshalls are the “Be Kind Sisters” Raegan & Rylyn.

Make sure you arrive early to find a great spot to watch the parade!  Anticipate seeing the Grand Marshalls, school marching bands, tractors, horses, fire trucks, church, local business and other group floats that match the parade’s theme for the year.

Check out all of the booths set up at Oldham County Day, too.  Many of the booths feature local businesses and organizations in the Oldham County area.  Meet local politicians, learn more about locally owned businesses, churches, maybe get a freebie or enter a raffle!  In the past, a lot of the booths had kid-friendly giveaways (like Dairy Queen ice cream coupons).  We love the fun living statues that are at Oldham County Day each year.  Booths will be set up near the Oldham County History Center and at CityPlace.

There is a lot of entertainment planned before and after the parade.  There is a full list of entertainment here. Musical acts will play at different locations including the Gazebo next to the Oldham County History Center and CityPlace lawn.  There is a concert the Friday before Oldham County Day at the new Springs Park, too.  Dancers, a petting zoo and more will also be at Oldham County Day and will add to the entertainment.

The LaGrange Farmers’ Market & Artisans will be set up on Saturday in their new space at Springs Park. The LaGrange Railroad Museum will also be open for free tours and entertainment in the parking lot. It’s definitely worth checking out the surrounding attractions after the parade!  LaGrange Christian Church will also have children’s games, food and fun 11am-1pm.

Arrive early for parking! You can also sometimes find parking along the side streets surrounding the square and some local residents open their property (sometimes for a fee).

And of course, always check out the other businesses in LaGrange!  A lot of the businesses and restaurants have special hours and activities during Oldham County Day!

Make sure you check the official Oldham County Day website and Facebook page for updates on this special event.  We wanted to allow our readers to have a general idea of what to expect during Oldham County Day, but realize that activities, event times and entertainment acts are subject to change each year.
