Skate Night at the LaGrange Community Center
A great family event is happening at the LaGrange Community Center, and we want to tell you about it.
This Friday, you can skate for free in LaGrange. We recently went skating and it was a lot of fun!
If you follow La Grange KY Parks & Recreation on Facebook, you might have seen their posts about Skate Nights at the LaGrange Community Center. The center is transformed into a roller-skating rink for a couple hours. The lights are dimmed, party lights are turned on and old school and popular music fills the gym along with skaters of all ages and abilities.
It is free to skate, but you must bring your own roller skates or rollerblades. The Community Center does not have skates to borrow. This is a great way for beginner skaters to practice with a caregiver next to them in a not so overwhelming space.
If you work up an appetite, the snack bar has food and drinks for sale. We were able to purchase a slice of Hometown Pizza, a bag of chips and a drink for $4. (This could possibly change at each Skate Night event.) It’s easy for skaters to move between the gym and the snack bar. Non-skaters can also choose to sit at one of the tables or watch in the gym.
The LaGrange Community Center (sometimes also called James T. Beaumont Community Center) is located at 307 West Jefferson Street LaGrange, KY 40031.
December’s Skate Night is set for Friday, December 16th at 6pm.
Remember to bring your own skates and have fun!
