Custom cakes, pastries, coffees, and more at Rose Bakery in Prospect
Rose Bakery in Prospect opened at 13206 W U.S. Hwy 42 in summer 2024. This bakery also serves espresso/coffee beverages and specializes in custom cakes.
The first thing we noticed when we visited Rose Bakery was, of course, the roses. The pastry chef, Lubna Altajjar, has beautifully decorated the inside and the patio with tons of pink roses with matching seating. It felt like such an inviting place because of the decor.
The place smelled amazing. You know you are getting a freshly baked item because you smell things baking from the moment you walk in. We visited Rose Bakery in the morning and they had many options to choose from.
We opted for iced lattes since it was a warm summer day. They had a sugar-free syrup option (vanilla) and alternate milks. We noticed on the counter that there were seasonal drinks to try as well.
Along with our drinks, we each selected something to eat: a croissant and a blueberry muffin. We spent $24, which included a tip.
First, the croissant was so perfect to look at. I hoped it was as good as it looked! It was still warm, which was a treat. It was light and crispy on the outside and just perfectly soft inside. It paired well with the iced latte. Both my friend and I commented about how good the coffee drinks were compared to other shops nearby!
She had a blueberry muffin and commented that although the topping was sweet, as expected, the rest of the muffin was not super sugary, and she enjoyed that. You could see the fresh blueberries making it a really nice summer treat.
We also noticed at Rose Bakery in Prospect that many families were stopping by to take treats and snacks to-go. They had cookies and colorful cupcakes in many flavors. Cake slices and more. The pastry chef seemed to keep setting more items out!
And, as we sat chatting over our coffee and pastries, the owner was setting out sandwiches as lunch neared. You can order online to pick up, and they participate in DoorDash if you prefer delivery.
We also noticed the lovely patio on the side of Rose Bakery in Prospect. It was a little warm so we opted to chat inside. But, we saw families going outside to have their pastries and with the umbrellas, people have the option to get out of the sun. Look at the wall covering!
Rose Bakery in Prospect is open daily except Sundays. Wouldn’t it be a lovely outing to get something from Rose Bakery and then head to Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve to the playground or for a picnic? These two locations are just a few miles apart!
If you need a custom cake, though we did not see them in the store, there is a gallery online that shows the artistry of the pastry chef. Check it out here.
